Asset Protection NY

The Asset Protection Manager coordinates security programs throughout South Florida and the New York metro area to minimize losses and protect company assets. This position Identifies and analyzes asset protection risks in order to effectively develop, recommend, and implement comprehensive security systems and countermeasures designed to eliminate or minimize losses.

In this position, you will:

  • Ensure the protection of all Popular employees, customers, physical assets and corporate facilities are safe and in compliance with any federal or state regulations.
  • Ensure that all staff members at branches and administrative buildings remain knowledgeable regarding safety procedures at all times.
  • Act as liaison to all branches, departments, managers and staff throughout the North America footprint.
  • Accumulate, analyze and investigate identified information of potential threats.
  • Create and review RFPs; review and approve service contracts on security related matters; analyze security service costs and ensure competitive pricing across regions.
  • Manage all service contracts on all services concerning the bank’s security program. Prepare, review and submit all matters on Capital Expenditures and budget to the National Security Director.
  • Manage Monthly Security Reports from branches; confirm alarm testing and identify service needs.
  • Manage Card Access systems including service calls; maintenance; reporting and updates.
  • Respond to robberies and provide direction and assistance to the impacted branches; identify any temporary security resources needed.
  • Establish, conduct and track (audit) operational processes properly and implement changes.
  • Serve as liaison with Federal/Local law enforcement agencies.
  • Oversee employee security training, when appropriate, to include knowledge and performance before, during and after a hold-up as part of an overall Loss Prevention Program.
  • Represent the Bank at all court appearances.

To be considered, you will need:


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Criminal Justice with a minimum of 5 years in physical security. Physical security experience preferred in financial institutions.

The following are desirable:

  • Certified Protection Professional - Board-Certified in Security Management (CPP)
  • Physical Security Professional, Board-Certified (PSP)


  • Clear and strong understanding on federal and local law bank regulations, policies, and physical security standards.
  • Synthesizes complex or diverse information; understands business impact of decisions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to effectively manage and coach employees, supervise and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Can work within approved budgets; develop and implement cost savings measures that contribute to profits and revenue
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; includes appropriate people in the decision-making process
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration
  • Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
