Associate Category Development Manager is responsible for leading category management efforts with assigned customers by developing and implementing specific programs to deliver against category and customer priorities. The role will be our expert for accessing internal knowledge and translating it into action; and identifying opportunities in assigned customers and facilitating solution development with the account team and other team members.  This role will also need expertise in JDA/Space planning software.

Reporting to Category Leadership Director, this role is part of the Category Leadership organization.

 

Key Responsibilites:

  • Develop and direct comprehensive category management programs, plans, and reviews that provide consumer and category based solutions.  The goal is to turn insight into actionable recommendations that grow the category at the assignment customer.

 

  • Create confectionery planograms and follow best in class shelving recommendations.

 

  • Lead the process for identification of customer specific opportunities and craft compelling fact-based recommendations to drive category sales.

 

  • Works directly and indirectly with both the customer and Mars Wrigley Confectionery cross functional teams as an indispensable business partner identifying and prioritizing knowledge estate opportunities based on business impact and needs

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of experience in Sales
  • 1 year experience in Category Management in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • JDA software knowledge and skills
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
  • Knowledge of CPG supply chain systems and processes
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a drug and background screen

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Sales
  • 2+ in Category Management in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
