Vertex is looking to hire an Associate Director of Workplace Services to support our 1.1M sqft global headquarters and R&D facility in Boston's Seaport District. Reporting into the Director of HQ Operations, this role will lead all employee-facing services at the Vertex HQ. The position will be highly visible to all levels of the organization, including senior level executives. This position is responsible for evaluating current capabilities and developing a strategy to create a best-in-class Workplace Services group and workplace for the Vertex HQ. The selected candidate will also be tasked with assisting other Vertex sites in developing their Workplace Services program globally. This position will partner with key stakeholders both internal to the Global Real Estate and Operations group as well as external groups including Human Resources, Corporate Communications and IT.

Drive the space planning and management operations and strategy:
  • Daily move, add change activity
  • Short, medium and long-term strategic planning
  • Site master planning including the development of alternative workplace strategies

Ad-hoc project management including unique challenges and development of solutions to problems
Ensure execution of site events for internal and external attendees
Participate in/lead cross-site global workplace services initiatives as needed
Recommend and implement technology solutions that enhance the workplace environment
Oversee Workplace operations including furniture fixtures and equipment
Responsible for all vendor managed services including:
  • Food Service
  • Managed Print/Mail Services
  • Fitness Center
  • Janitorial Services
  • Various other vendors

Manage commuter operations:
  • Employee Parking
  • Boston public transportation shuttle services
  • Commuter shuttles
  • Seaport related mobility management for employees

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferable in business, facilities management or architecture
  • 10 + years experience in facilities/ workplace management with a focus on space management, innovative work place design and implementation, global partnering in planning through integrated CAFM systems.
  • Vendor and contract negotiations experience
  • Previous budgetary and people management experience required
  • Experience with CAFM,CAD systems and CMMS systems
  • MS Office Suite
  • Bluebeam
