The Business Intelligence Architect will play a key role in defining, architecting and implementing Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions that align with the company's strategy to use technology - especially analytics - as a key differentiator. The individual must be a good communicator; must be able to talk directly with key business stakeholders, speaking in terms they understand -- this means this person should have good business knowledge and be able to explain technical concepts without using complex, technical terms. The individual should then be able to define and architect an analytics solution to satisfy the core business need.

What You'll Be Working On-

  • Gather and understand business requirements for multiple functional areas
  • Design and build Data Visualizations for both structured and unstructured data. Be able to take a high level business need and define the right visualizations to support it
  • Analyze data and create detailed reports utilizing Qliksense, Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition or similar tools (OBIEE), and database query tools such as Toad
  • Provide detailed development tasks and estimates
  • Oversee the day-to-day work of assigned development resources during implementation
  • Work with Oracle and PL/SQL, including the ability to write complex SQL queries to pull and analyze data
  • Write and manage Windows and Unix shell scripts as needed to support solutions
  • Data and Application Architecture and Modeling
  • Establish and maintain standards for system and applications architecture, configuration and documentation. Develop standardized documentation and policies
  • Leverage one or more of the following environments and tools such as Hadoop, Qliksense, Tableau, Couchbase, Cassandra to solve complex analytical problems
  • Project management for break/fix and enhancements, using mature SDLC and best practices to ensure consistent high-quality deliverables
  • Manage IT vendors to ensure timely and excellence delivery of services.
  • Develop and maintain thorough functional, technical, and architecture documentation for all development and support activities

What You'll Need-

  • Bachelor's degree with a computer science focus or equivalent experience. Master's preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive related experience within an IT department
  • 8+ years' Experience with data modeling concepts and design best practices for Decision Support and Analytics systems
  • Experience in application and data architecture with Oracle RDBMS, NoSQL, Big data technologies
  • 8+ years of Oracle database (SQL, PL/SQL) experience or equivalent
  • Demonstrable Experience in Data Visualization is highly desirable
  • Experience in shell scripting desirable
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting development (OBIEE, QlikSense, Tableau)
  • Expertise with one or more of the following Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Couchbase, Cassandra
  • Experience with Big Data technologies, Data Visualization for both structured and unstructured data
  • Experience in the Data Management & Analytic platforms in Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and On-Prem environments
  • A broad understanding of all major technical platforms, technical architecture models; and enterprise architecture strategies
  • Experience with gathering and analyzing business requirements
  • Practical experience in building business and technical requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to meet common objectives through teamwork
  • Excellent verbal, written communications and presentation skills with an emphasis on being able to present technical topics in an easy to understand way for non-technical customers.
  • Strong partnering skills and a service leadership mindset are required
  • Proven track record of providing effective team leadership
  • Ability to multi-task and meet aggressive timelines
  • May lead and direct the work of others
  • A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected
  • Experience using standard project management methodology a plus
  • Experience implementing systems and processes, preferably in a restaurant or retail environment
