PSEG Fossil is looking for 2017/2018 COLLEGE HIRE ENGINEERING GRADUATES for our Generation Engineer Program Class of 2018


The successful candidate will be hired into an entry level engineering position as a Generation Engineer. The new Generation Engineer will be involved in a one to two year rotational training and development program within the PSEG Fossil, LLC organization, a subsidiary of one of the nation’s leading energy companies, PSEG.


During this period, the Generation Engineer will be assigned to various power plant locations, which could include our plants in New Jersey, New York, or Connecticut, with subsequent other rotational assignments, along with a variety of leadership development sessions and technical training. This broad experience will aid in developing the Generation Engineer’s skills and knowledge of PSEG Fossil, LLC and PSEG Power, LLC.


The station assignments will allow the Generation Engineer to understand the operation and maintenance activities associated with a power generating station through participation in selected operating and maintenance type activities. During this period, shift-work is required and overtime compensation is offered.  In addition, Generation Engineers will be required to be on call for emergent situations or when business needs warrant on a 24 hour 7 day a week basis.


Other assignments will enable the engineer to understand the various roles and responsibilities of the support organizations and the services they provide to the generating stations. Throughout this development period, there will be opportunities to participate in specific leadership development programs, as well as other specialized training.


We are looking for 2017 and/or May 2018 College graduates with:



•             BS Degree in an Engineering discipline with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with a degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar related Engineering major from an accredited institution. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

•             Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. 

•             Ability to work rotating shifts with rotating days off - including working Saturdays and Sundays.


Desired: Prior co-op or internship experience in PSEG Fossil, LLC or other major energy company in the power generation sector, strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
