Job Description
The Financial Consultant in the Ameriprise Advisor Center (AAC) is responsible for engaging existing non-engaged clients or prospects in a financial planning relationship. The Financial Consultant will provide comprehensive advice based on the clients' needs and recommend suitable products and facilitates a transition of the ongoing relationship to the Client Relationship Manager team.
Responsibilities
Develop and deepen relationships with existing non-engaged clients and prospects via the telephone. This includes developing rapport and driving a needs based discussion to engage clients in an effort to understand their short and long-term financial needs. Leverages financial planning tools to provide comprehensive advice to clients and prospects based on financial needs. Recommends suitable products from streamlined list of product solutions. Manages the initial relationship with the client and facilitates the handoff to the Client Relationship Manager team.

Manage work/time to optimize client interactions. Includes: preparing for sales calls to clients, placing outbound calls to existing clients/prospects, gathering and documenting information to ensure compliance requirements are met, facilitation of appropriate business processes and the monitoring of interactions and next steps.

Acquire clients from personal network and client referrals through delivery of high quality client experiences.

Engage in on-going professional development to increase industry, product, sales and servicing skills and abilities. Maintain all appropriate FINRA/other licenses and requirements up to date.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- 1-3 years financial services experience
- Current FINRA Series 7
- State securities (S63 or S66), state IAR (S65 or S66) (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
- Must have or obtain Minnesota Life, Accident and Health and Variable Contracts Insurance license within 30 days of hire date.
- Proficient in financial services products/services.
- High level of confidence, perseverance, and a strong desire to achieve.
- Previous sales experience required.
- Robust consulting, influencing and client engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to display and maintain a highly professional demeanor consistent with Ameriprise values and brand.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Very strong negotiating and closing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- CFP, CRPC
