Description

The Imaging Services Engineer III provides a high level of technical expertise in the service and maintenance of one or more categories of imaging equipment. Performs installations, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations on a broad range of imaging equipment within assigned geography. Serves as a consultant in site planning, purchasing, and installation of equipment systems.

Education

AS in Electronic Technology or Engineering or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience servicing medical imaging equipment typically obtained in six plus years required, preferably in a hospital environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of radiology physics, digital technology and mechanics
  • Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to imaging equipment, radiation safety and protection practices.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy & physiology, and medical terminology and regulatory requirements including JCAHO, CAP, JCAHO, the California Radiation Control Regulations - title 17, and the California Administrative Code - Title 22
  • Requires the knowledge base and experience to repair and maintain a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment quickly and accurately.
  • Advanced skills in the following areas: radiographic systems, diagnostic ultrasound systems, portables, CR readers, Bureau of Radiological Health and Certification procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required
