Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Industrial Engineer provides engineering and technical support to the Middle Georgia Kaolin Mining and Processing Operations. Specifically, this position will apply Industrial Engineering disciplines to the manufacturing and logistics functions at the site.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Act as Manufacturing Representative for all packaging upgrade capital projects planned in the next four years
- Work with Engineering and Plant Operations to schedule and execute the packaging upgrades with minimal impact to customers and minimal cost impact to the company
- Work with Operations Management in the three finishing plants to optimize the packaging schedule to improve manpower efficiency
- Apply workflow optimization knowledge to minimize material movements in all three finishing plants
- Design and implement optimization models in the plants to improve efficiency and reduce cost
- Apply LEAN / Six Sigma tools to reduce waste in all operations
- Balances analytics with operational collaboration to strengthen processes within operations.
- Ability to work in a group environment with operators, maintenance, engineers, schedulers, contractors, vendors and management to collect information, design and implement solutions.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or logistics functions.
- Experience with Optimization Modeling required: Python, VBA, SQL, GAMS, Xpress, and/or Excel Solver, etc.
- Results oriented, strong implementation skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A high level of influencing skills to achieve results without direct supervision.
- Must be able to work in a diverse team environment - working closely with mechanics, operators, engineers, and management to solve problems and address systemic issues related to logistical inefficiency
- Must have a sound technical knowledge of logistics, workflows, and inventory management.
- Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and SAP
