Summary of Position

Under general direction is responsible for development of all phases of innovation project execution in support of creating a culture of innovation at Atrius Health. Responsible for critical activities including but not limited to conducting interviews, field observations, analysis, modeling solutions concepts, prototype development, and designing and executing experiments. Works with other team members in developing creative, effective, and patient-centered solutions. Provides and encourages divergent perspectives to cultivate best possible solutions for successful diffusion. With other Innovation team members, works to continuously enhance our innovation process, identify future innovation initiatives, engage the Atrius Health community in innovation, and work with external partners. Reports to the Medical Director of the Innovation Center.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in analytical field, science or engineering (or equivalent education, training or expertise). Master's degree (MS/MA/MBA) preferred. Clinical operations background with experience in workflow development strongly preferred.

Skills and Experience: Skills and experience typically acquired through 7-10 years of related professional experience with healthcare operational knowledge.

Deep curiosity, creativity, and customer focus. Able to bring a project through an end-to-end development process. Solid understanding of development and innovation tools and processes including but not limited to quality functional deployment, managing creative tension, decision flow, experiment design, iterative rapid prototyping, and visual management of the development process. Proven experience in launching new products. Experience in qualitative research methods. Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate challenging, paradigm shifting ideas and enable others to see new opportunities. Strong empathy and interpersonal skills, leading to the ability to create change through influence, inspiration, and relationship-building. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment with multiple stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, through periods of uncertainty and constant change, and with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. Strong computer skills required, including complex use of spreadsheets and presentation software.

In addition to the required qualifications listed above, the following experience or skills are a plus:

  • User experience design

  • Industrial design

  • Experience with lean systems

  • Statistical analysis
