Job Role Summary

 

  • Responsible for the overall health and effectiveness of the site’s fixed equipment and piping inspection program
  • Oversees the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment by ensuring full compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations and procedures

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation and stewardship of the site inspection program to maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations and procedures
  • Stewards Mechanical Integrity program status to the Business Teams and site Management, including status of identified gaps
  • Interacts with site leadership on issues concerning equipment inspection, repairs, and alteration
  • Site subject matter expert for inspection of fixed equipment
  • Provides technical training, mentoring and input into development needs for site inspection personnel and mechanical engineers
  • Works with EMRE, circuit networks, and other sites on identification and implementation of new inspection programs and technologies
  • Site interface for external assessment teams and communication of inspection learnings
  • Stewards inspection group’s role in the equipment strategy and risk-based work selection process and advises on timing of inspection-related tasks
  • Works with the mechanical organization, vendors, and contractors to ensure quality QA/QC, PMI, and welding programs are implemented and being used effectively
  • Leads initiatives with the section supervisor to develop future plans and achieve commitments in areas of costs, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Assists and stewards the implementation of corporate initiatives such as MCI Best Practices, IMSA gap closure activities, and HLVIs
  • Stewards contractor performance for specialty inspection and NDE companies; includes reviewing performance and identifying efficiencies

 

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Special Skills

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in fixed equipment design, fabrication, and inspection
  • Knowledgeable in applicable industry codes and standards such as API 510/570/653, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, Div1
  • Demonstrated experience in applying and driving management systems and work processes
  • Proven leadership capabilities with strong communication and team working skills, through a combination of formal training and experience
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to pull and analyze data from multiple sources and present conclusions in a clear, consise manner
  • Excellent analytical problem solving capabilities and a proven ability to set high standards and promote improvements
  • Sound judgment
