Tennant has an exciting, innovative IT organization which provides advanced technology solutions for our business partners.  Currently we are working on projects in telemetry (IOT), E-commerce, Mobility, Web, CRM, HR and others.  We seek IT professionals who are looking for challenging opportunities and want to learn new technologies. 

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer in the Web Development space to design, implement, test and manage Java code for Content Management Systems, Presentation Layer Design and eCommerce platforms. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Java Language and development environments, a portfolio of work in the web application development field and an understanding of the technical environment (operating systems, web servers, databases and integration tools) supporting web based solutions.


  • Develop Java applications meeting the requirements of the functional and technical specifications provided.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Architects to formulate functional and technical specifications to meet business requirements.
  • Adhere to secure programming principles and practices.
  • Unit Test applications within the parameters of the specifications.


  • 3+ Years with Java Application Software development in a web application development environment
  • Knowledge and experience of some or all of the following:
    • Enterprise Level Java Based Content Management Systems (e.g. AEM)
    • Presentation Layer Design, including CSS, HTML, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX etc.
    • eCommerce Platforms (e.g. Hybris, Spring, Sitecore, ATG.)
  • Experience building, deploying and supporting Internet-facing applications, Secure coding practices.
  • Problem solving, organizational, decision-making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with/Basic Understanding of the following technologies:
    • Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems, Apache TomCat web servers
    • SAML / LDAP and other standard integration options
    • Search Engines (e.g. Solr, Indica)
    • Web Analytics (e.g. Google, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
    • Database applications (e.g. SQL, Oracle)
