Leidos has a career opening for a Lead Avionics Installation Technician located in Manassas, VA.

JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will perform installation of avionics & navigation equipment per engineering drawings while following wiring standards. The ability to perform basic soldering, harness fabrication and installation including wire stripping and crimping, fault isolation and repair of avionics system failures. The technician will perform scheduled maintenance on avionics related systems, pitot static & transponder certifications, NAV data base upgrades etc. to meet FAA guidelines and well as the customer satisfaction needs. Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements.

Work Environment:

Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment where there is no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to severe changes in temperature, less than adequate lighting, dust and wind. On occasion individuals may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards will prevail and hearing protection is required. Will travel between Manassas and St. Louis. Will travel when needed OCONUS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Avionics Installation Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties and functions:

-Installation of avionics & navigation equipment per engineering drawings while following wiring standards.

-Perform basic soldering, harness fabrication and installation including wire stripping and crimping, fault isolation and repair of avionics system failures.

-Perform scheduled maintenance on avionics related systems, pitot static & transponder certifications, NAV data base upgrades etc.

-Meet FAA guidelines and well as the customer satisfaction needs.

-Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

-High school diploma and 3+ years of related experience.

-Vocational development or on-the-job training of electronic and avionics theory and troubleshooting on aviation systems.

-Ability to read and use schematics and drawings.

-Experience in General Aviation, King Air, Citation and other turbo prop and corporate jets as well as Garmin, GoGo Biz, Rockwell Collins, Honeywell and others is preferred.

-Must be able to pass CRC training.

-Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

-Ability to:

oCrawl in and out of tight spaces

oComfortably work in confined areas in a kneeling or crouched position

oLift, balance and carry up to 50 lbs.

oWork in enclosed hangars as well as exterior in year round weather conditions

oWork off site as required
