PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Read, understand and follow engineering prints, shop orders and standard work documents to create, modify and assemble basic

jigs and assemblies

- Use the mig welder, cutting torch, band saws, grinders, sanders and clamps required to build weldments and frames

- Build and repair parts for existing equipment

- Align components for assembly, manually or with a hoist, and also bolt, screw, dowel, weld or rivet parts together using hand tools,

rivet gun and welding equipment or arrange for assembly by a welder or electrician

- Verify conformance of parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers

- Participate in and sustain 5S activities and department continuous improvement projects

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Graduate/GED/HSED

- 2 years of experience preferred

- Basic reading, writing and math skills

- Basic knowledge of measuring tools and instruments pertaining to the machinist trade, both precision and non-precision

- Knowledge of basic electrical and pneumatics

- General understanding of operation of a CNC and vertical mill

- Basic skills with drill presses, vertical mills, engine lathes, stationary band saws, welders and power tools

- Possess good troubleshooting, reasoning, analytical problem solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Shop math skills including fractions, decimals, metrics

- Must be able to calculate and understand radiuses, diameters and angles

- Basic product knowledge

- Oral communication skills

- Basic team skills

- Basic organizational skills

- Physical ability to perform job duties

- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision

- Understanding of related safety policies and procedures
