General Summary

With minimal direction responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Key Account program. 

Essential Functions

Develop and implement Key Account Sales Program to maximize growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.


Develop and implement annual sales plans and forecast future sales performance for Key Accounts.


Responsible for the creation of annual objectives and budgets and the measurement of sales against established plan goals.


Identify internal and external process improvement for Key Accounts including improvements in the ordering / return process, customer service assistance, distribution and board selection; Make recommendations to executive management.


Provide management direction to Board Management, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Distribution Center.


Create sell-in and sell-thru process for Key Accounts.


Manage assigned Independent Sales Force Reps including contracts, pay, performance and development.


Work with Sales Force to develop strategies to maximize sales opportunities; Develop and implement training as needed.


Cultivate and develop strong business relationships with Key Accounts and identify prospective additions to the group.


Establishes and maintains working relationships with key personnel and communicates with internal and external clients and executive management as needed.


Manages and leads special projects as assigned.


Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:


Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent training, education and experience

10 to 15 years sales experience


5 years managerial and/or supervisory experience


Ability to make management decisions with wide ranging impact


Ability to represent the company externally to clients and customers in a professional manner


Must be able to prioritize work for subordinates


Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills, detailed oriented and able to multitask


Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills


Travel required

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

This position generally works in an indoor office environment and travels on a regular basis.


While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to:

Speak clearly and concisely
Hear clearly to understand general conversations in person, over the telephone and in large groups
Use hands to manipulate objects and paperwork
Use close vision and be able to focus
Sit for long periods of time while traveling to clients or at meetings
Stand for long periods of time while working in a clients retail environment
Travel by car for significant distances and airplane in varying weather conditions
