AGCO is currently seeking a NPI Project Quality Lead

to join our NPI (New Product Introduction) Quality team in Jackson, MN.

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The NPI Project Quality Lead acts as an ambassador of customer satisfaction in the project team. NPI Lead is point-of-contact for all matters relating to Quality on the assigned project, providing input, guidance and support to the Project Team in order to ensure a consistent quality mindset and process adherence to ensure the successful launch of a new, high quality product in the market. The role focuses on failure prevention as well as minimizing the risk of associated costs to fix issues once the product is launched (internal rework, material scrap, warranty, field campaigns, loss of businesses, etc.). By focusing on defect prevention, maturity level management, readiness transparency and effective teamwork the job holder ensures quality target achievement throughout the project. This role is responsible for developing sustainable, quality focused processes for new product development, including tracking systems to support maturity level reporting and decision making.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Actively participate in project core teams representing Quality organization
  • Development of the project quality plan, assuring internal and supplier quality readiness
  • Coordination across sites, when working on multi-site projects

 

  • Analysis of predecessor product quality performance (e.g., warranty, claim rate, repair frequency, customer feedback, etc.) and provision of input for the New Product Specification (NPS): current quality issues/opportunities
  • Definition of quality targets and engagement with the project team to achieve those targets (i.e., virtual builds, follow up on design, validation and solution implementation).
  • Management of the convergence process for RF improvement, ensuring seamless coordination between current maintenance and NPI activities
  • Coordination of new product review sessions (i.e., Virtual builds, First Product Evaluation, Manufacturing Review, Product Audit)
  • Reporting of quality readiness and KPIs at the different project stages
  • Definition of quality related project investments (e.g: inspection and test equipment for Mfg.)

 

  • Coordination with Mfg Engineering and Mfg Quality teams in planning and implementing required production tests and inspection equipment
  • Coordination with plant quality teams in the development of quality documentation for production
  • Coordination and timely execution of AMPIP (AGCO Major Product Introduction Process) Quality Deliverables, including Repair Frequency and warranty target setting, first samples approval, etc.

 

  • Preparation of materials for gate reviews in collaboration with project and quality leaders. When targets are not achieved, ensure the necessary containment and mitigating actions are in place
  • Partnering with the Validation and Engineering teams on DVP (Design Validation and DFMEA development as well as KCC definition and reliability risk analysis
  • In preparation for prototype build: consistent follow up on the List of Open Points (LOP), virtual and physical prototypes quality issues resolution 
  • In preparation to pre-series: coordinate PPAP parts delivery with SQE team

 

  • During the ramp up phase: assurance that the necessary controls and tests are in place to protect the customer while quality has not yet stabilized (e.g., 100% or batch method audits)
  • Participation in early warning teams to track performance of first units sold and takes quick improvement actions when needed.
  • Partnering with Engineering for further improvement of the new product introduction process

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

 

Required Qualifications of the NPI:

  • A minimum of 8 year experience as new product introduction team leader or team member, preferably in the same or similar industry
  • Quality assurance, advanced product quality planning (APQP) or product development background.

 

Preferred Qualifications of the NPI:

  • Experience with virtual builds, simulation, product validation and agriculture background are a plus.
  • Familiar with product engineering systems
  • Experience in solving complex problems in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams

 

Education of the NPI:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Fluent Oral/Written English communication skills
