HyQuip, LLC an APPLIED fluid power company headquartered in Waukesha, WI with locations in Butler and Madison, serves OEM and MRO customers in the Madison and Milwaukee vicinity.  HyQuip distributes Aeroquip fluid conveyance products and operates three Aeroquip Express Stores.

HyQuip seeks a “hands on” Operations Manager to improve warehouse and production operations in Waukesha.  As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of basic warehouse functions, production hose assembly, Aeroquip Express Store support and coordinating/managing inventory levels at key customers. You will be expected to lead and manage a team of six.

In addition, the Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Conducting annual performance and wage reviews with your direct reports.
  • Training staff in warehouse operations, hose assembly and Aeroquip Express Store counter sales.  Cross training staff to be proficient in multiple roles will be important to promote operational efficiency.
  • Managing the inventory in the warehouse.  This would include daily inventory cycle counts, stock location & rotation in a warehouse and inventory carousel environment.
  • Planning the work flow to ensure that customer orders are filled accurately and shipped on time.
  • Assist with counter sales when needed.
  • Insure that shop equipment is maintained and in good working order.
  • Scheduling to backfill counter sales staff for vacations and sick time for all three locations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills in an industrial distribution environment.  Ability to develop and sustain a cooperative team environment.
  • Willingness to learn unique skills that are important to HyQuip’s success.
  • Willingness to actively participate in the daily work flow whenever needed.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems and proactively manage operations to minimize disruptions to our customers.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferences

  • Prior experience leading a group of warehouse/Production employees, including hiring and coaching.
  • Ability to affectively lead and motivate employees
  • Experience with MRP systems and PC skills in a warehouse distribution environment.
  • Fluid power background very helpful but not required.
