General Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

This Paralegal will provide support to the Legal Department, including the following responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the day-to-day workflow and document flow of the Legal Department.
  2. Create customer contracts by customizing customer document templates based on credit approvals and pricing approvals.
  3. Coordinate contract closing, including execution of documents via e-signature, administering and filing executed copies of contracts, organizing contract files, including electronic files, and improving current filing process.
  4. Track contract variances for individual customer contracts communicating significant variances to the Client Integration Function, Credit Department, and other operating areas of the business as appropriate.
  5. Maintain and update contract templates, and, when required, create new contract templates under the direction of the General Counsel or Associate General Counsel.
  6. Create and review other types of basic contracts, including non-disclosure agreements and vendor agreements, and coordinate the closing of such contracts.
  7. Preparation and filing of annual reports on behalf of Company.
  8. Administrative control of Customer Contract files.
  9. Administrative control of Bankruptcy Files and Notices.
  10. Administrative control of the electronic customer contract folders and contract templates.
  11. Administrative control of Contract Database, including scanning and organization of Contract Documents.
  12. Administrative control over corporate minute books, including drafting of resolutions as needed.
  13. Independent, day-to-day administrative control of the Customer Vehicle Lawsuit process, including tender letters, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests and file maintenance and tracking.
  14. Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the contract documentation process or as otherwise requested by a member of the Legal Department.
  15. Draft and review marketing promotional activities, including sweepstakes rules and regulations.
  16. Project tasks and project management responsibilities, as assigned from time-to-time.
  17. Support legal personnel, as needed (e.g. transactional; due diligence; audits; litigation responses, scanning, document execution, special projects).
  18. Prepare and organize documents for and assist in closing corporate and commercial transactions including agreements, certificates, checklists and other documents.
  19. Organize legal invoice payments, including overseeing legal invoice management system.
  20. Perform legal research.
  21. Other duties as assigned.
  22. Gain thorough knowledge of company policies, practices and organization as related to areas of responsibility.

Mandatory Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  1. Law firm or public company paralegal experience.
  2. Contract and litigation experience required.
  3. Bachelor’s degree required.
  4. Paralegal Certification/Degree required.
  5. DocuSign experience highly preferred.
  6. Contract Management experience required.
  7. Notary public certification highly desirable.
  8. Detail oriented, self-motivated and analytical.
  9. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  10. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  11. Must be able to multi-task, be flexible, and be able to prioritize and complete projects effectively and efficiently in a time sensitive environment.
  12. Demonstrated evidence of critical thinking skills highly desired.
  13. Excellent Skills in basic computer proficiency required, specifically Microsoft Outlook and Office, and ability to learn new software programs.
  14. In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles required.
  15. The ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy required.
  16. The ability to work as a team player, as well as across many different departments within the organization required.
  17. The ability to work without close supervision.
