Description

As a Powerplant Engineer with Rolls-Royce you will play an integral role as part of the engineering team in Meridian, Mississippi. You will be responsible for identifying solutions to technical problems and contributing to the application, as well as the improvement of new or existing processes in the repair of the engines.

We're the second largest global provider of defence aero-engine products and services globally with 16,000 engines in the service of 160 customers in 100 countries. Our engines power aircraft in every major sector, including: transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing technical support to the engine overhaul shop
  • Technical consultation with Original Engine Manufacturer (OEM), Material Review Board action, Defect Deterioration Reports, and Reliability Centered Maintenance meetings
  • Tooling and equipment specifications
  • Coordinating of work scopes with OEM and US Navy Engineering
  • Providing Customer Support services
  • Component Condition Reports, including failure analysis
  • Telephone consultations with OEM and US Navy Engineering
  • Operational and maintenance recommendations for component and engine test systems
  • Providing support and direction on other projects, as assigned by engineering

Basic:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Engineering or Technology and 4 years` experience in the aviation industry OR;
  • A Master`s degree in Engineering or Technology and 2 years` experience in the aviation industry
  • Experience working with gas turbine engines in the aviation industry
  • Demonstrated leadership in problem analysis and resolution
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Preferred:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Background in turbine engine overhaul providing technical support in disassembly, assembly, tooling and equipment and test procedures
  • Experience in liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and customers on technical issues
  • Turbine engine testing and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with the Adour engine family
