Position Summary:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for acquiring data center hardware and software inventory assets and for assisting in tracking costs against existing budgets to ensure costs are controlled

Essential Functions/Duties

  • Generates requests for Quotes (RFQs), Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs). 
  • Facilitates review and approval by Senior Management, as needed.
  • Manage vendors for compliancy to guidelines and maximizing return value from the vendors.
  • Coach and Manage internal teams regarding compliance with Guidelines
  • Conduct high level customer and vendor contract views to extract relevant details needed to submit PR
  • Acts as liaison between Finance, Technical and Sales Account Management, Data Center Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain Management to coordinate procurement and delivery tasks
  • Acts as a fiduciary steward to incorporate cost containment strategies and maximize return to within procurement processes.


  • Two (2) years procurement experience
  • Experience functioning in a high-volume purchasing organization
  • Experience Working in a Data Center Environment
  • Basic knowledge of, and experience working with Data Center Hardware
  • Operational knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable using MS Excel to manipulate and consolidate data
  • Able to perform basic contract reviews
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Comply with all corporate and organizational policies and guidelines
