About the Job
Product Operations is seeking an experienced, driven, results-oriented Program Manager to support the definition of complex business programs, and to direct and ensure the outcome of those programs. This role will manage complex projects and/or support programs impacting business goals and objectives, and will lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in their development, planning, automation and implementation. The Program Manager will work with the team to define priorities and resources allocated to initiatives or programs, and will plan and implement schedules and monitor project/program from inception through delivery. He/she will develop and manage communications with cross-functional team members and senior management in Engineering, Information Security, Sales, Service and Support, and Finance, and may engage and oversee the work of external vendors. This role will maintain awareness of trends, business conditions and internal processes and practices impacting project/program deliverables. The Program Manager will report into the Product Operations Team and will have visibility across Akamai's senior leadership as you report on the status of the key Products or Strategic Programs in Products & Development Group (PDG).

About the Team
This specific team in Product Operations focuses on Luna Control Center, Akamai’s customer-facing portal. Luna Control Center is the critical system that all of our customers interact with to gather traffic analytics, manage configurations, access training and support materials, and view their bills. As such, it sits squarely in the middle of a complex systems landscape, and involves deep and complex integration across the Akamai system portfolio. The Luna Program Management team drives the definition, prioritization, planning processes, business metrics, communication and delivery of these initiatives. The program management team is a critical component of a fast-paced organization and is known for their organizational agility, ability to adapt to changing environments, finesse in challenging situations, and clear, concise communication skills.


* Use project management methodologies and best practices to support release management and regression testing processes with key stakeholders within Akamai
* Track, follow up on process dependencies and communicate status to upper management and required stakeholders within Akamai
* Document detailed agendas, meeting minutes, and action items from key cross-functional meetings
* Identify areas of risk/opportunity, and influence and implement continuous improvements to the process
* Follow guidance and best practices to successfully drive products or strategic initiatives through the program development process to successful delivery


Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Management
* Minimum of 2 years of overall experience
* Minimum of 1 years of experience with Program/Project Management or equivalent experience, ideally in a cross-functional technical delivery capacity.

Desired Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a wide range of constituencies in a diverse corporate and client environment
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget while communicating with key senior leaders
* Knowledge of program and project management principles and practices, PMP certification or Big 5 Consulting experience preferred
* Knowledge in business process, operations, and metric definition best practices
* Knowledge in Risk and Issue management and resolution
* Knowledge of high-tech internet industry & technical software implementations
* Detail and action-oriented self starter
* Expertise with Microsoft Office products
* Knowledge of JIRA and other Program Management tools
