PURPOSE: To perform quality checks and other quality related tasks for the consumable division. 



  • Closely monitor new processes and production runs of newly launched products.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new raw materials and the disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Develop quality control plans and quality assurance tools as required.
  • Develop and perform random process and product audits, capability studies, measurements, and report results.
  • Support all projects and initiatives as they relate to continuous improvement to Consumable Division.
  • Enforce quality standards in assigned area.
  • Initiate changes to improve process and product quality.
  • Assist, direct, and train other members of the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Maintain quality records as required.
  • Define, troubleshoot, and resolve daily shop problems using the corrective action and other quality tools where appropriate; report on results.
  • Review and follow up with corrective actions on the Consumable Division warranties.
  • Complete other duties as assigned. 



  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical and/or quality training preferred.
  • Highly motivated, quick to learn, and an uncompromising attitude towards quality as well as excellent oral, written communication, and people skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a neat and safe work area as well as have an excellent attendance, safety, and work record.
  • Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to train in Six Sigma and process auditing.
  • Ability to plan and work on multiple projects with minimal supervision and instruction preferred.
  • Familiarity with personal computers using the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and Consumable Division products preferred.
  • Experience in welding or willingness to undergo the appropriate training.
  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance tools, procedures, measurement techniques, and test equipment.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift.
