Department: Security

A Life-Changing Career


Responsibilities: Patrols Mayo Clinic Rochester facilities and property to maintain order, protect personnel, and prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, etc. Enforces Mayo policies and provides assistance to patients, visitors, and employees. Responds to other Security requirements of the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus. Responds to complaints of wrongdoing, prepares incident reports/activity logs, and works in the Security control centers.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required.

Additional Qualifications: Previous security experience, as well as experience with computers preferred. Associate of Arts degree is preferred. Must be able to work independently. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Requires strong sense of customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors and employees. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable and stressful situations. Must be able to manage altercations and emergency crises in an effective and professional manner.

License or Certification: Must possess a valid driver's license.

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $17.68 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 24
Schedule Details: Every other weekend 12 hour shifts 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend 8:00am-8:00pm
