Role Value Proposition: 


The Senior Campaign Developer is a hands-on, detail oriented professional experienced in the design and implementation of marketing campaigns using Unica, Adobe or comparable software in support of business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) marketing initiatives that drive revenue or operational efficiencies and strengthen customer relationships. This role will help translate campaign requirements into data-driven segmentation strategies. The ideal candidate will derive trends from performance data to support business decision-making by providing actionable recommendations to further define and revise ongoing and future marketing tactics.


Day to day responsibilities include data onboarding, data manipulation and cleansing, developing functional specifications, programing campaign requirements, audience segmentation, model score application, producing and quality-testing campaign data files, defining tracking and measurement rules to support performance management, identifying and remediating issues along the campaign development lifecycle.  This associate will partner with MetLife’s database host vendor and IT organization to ensure the smooth operation of the campaign management ecosystem.


This is a fast-pace, agile-based environment that requires working cross-functionally with internal and external partners. This ability to handle several campaign projects simultaneously is essential, as are strong communication and project management skills.  The right individual will have proven experience in the direct marketing discipline to help drive segmentation strategies.



 Key Responsibilities: 


  • Partner with business partners on the development of new campaigns and test & learn experiments
  • Produce campaign data lists and reports using a campaign management platform and/or custom SQL
  • Communicate project status updates to business partners, system stakeholders and production managers
  • Review, synthesize, and analyze business requirements from marketing and other stakeholders and write functional specifications
  • Provide regular reporting and campaign analysis that evaluate and benchmark performance relative to objectives and prior results
  • Partner closely with Data Science team on the development of behavior models and advance analytics that inform and drive marketing segmentation strategies
  • Implement contact management capabilities and rules to coordinate outreach from customers perspective
  • Identify technical issues within the campaign management platform and manage resolutions
  • Provide campaign data environment architecture recommendations when needed
  • Produce ad hoc custom reporting and analysis including market sizing by industry to support the investigation/identification of opportunities for growing  business
  • Support and manage the design of data and file structures, system logic, and system architecture.
  • Provide operational support of marketing database system and manage day to day system and data quality issues
  • Work with technology teams as an advocate to ensure quality and timeliness of systems/project deliverables



Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Excellent project management skills; able to deliver projects with consistent high quality and on time
  • Willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' and perform tasks to get the job done efficiently and effectively
  • Cross-functional team player, and collaborator with excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
  • Ability to triage issues and provide creative solutions to streamline operations.
  • Superior communication skills and relationship management skills in order to act as a resource to users of business applications and procedures



  • 7-10+ years of experience as business or systems analyst  in database marketing and/or  analytics
  • Proven experience with relational databases and marketing automation applications such as UNICA
  • Proven understanding of data analytics and marketing optimization using business intelligence and statistical tools to query and interpret data (Business Objects, SAS, Modeler, SQL)
  • Must operate strategically, while leveraging the tactical skills to manage day-to-day business needs. 
  • Intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint and Word
