THE OPPORTUNITY

Opportunity to acquire the full spectrum of managerial skills required for high level editorial work across multi-media: print, ebooks, video, and website.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Editing: supporting all phases of publication for professional books and curricular resources, communicating adeptly with high-profile authors, and taking a lead role in production
  • Managing digital products: coordinating revisions and development of new apps, sharing video editing responsibilities, leading archiving efforts
  • Coordinating rights and reprints work to keep the backlist active
  • Editorial projects 60%
  • Editorial management: 40%

HOW YOU CAN FIT

  • The position requires 8-10 years of editorial development, preferably in education publishing.
  • The ability to lead a team of freelancers and to collaborate with multiple groups throughout the publishing process is essential.
  • Basic use and knowledge of Excel is required.
  • On-the-job training provided in all systems related to editorial work: EPIC, Woodwing/InCopy, FileMaker
