Summary
The Senior Manager, U.S. Commercial Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuring continuous product supply while minimizing excess and obsolescence. He/She serves as the primary interface between Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology (PO\u0026T) and the US Commercial organization for commercial demand/supply product planning.
This position leads a team of 2 and reports to the Director of US Supply Chain.
Job Description
The Senior Manager, U.S. Commercial Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuring continuous product supply while minimizing EEO. Work with commercial team to ensure alignment of supply plan with business strategy. Ensure metrics are in place to drive achievement of corporate/team objectives. Work with CMC teams to ensure processes are in place to minimize supply risk due to regulatory approval status. Proactively identify risks in supply chain, recommend mitigation plans to management and implement solutions. Ensure resources are in place to support new product launches and supply chain projects. Manage/Support cross-functional projects such as cross-functional process/system integration. Build processes that are scalable and ensure sufficient resources are planned for future growth.


* Responsible for supervising and overseeing the Finished Goods (FG) Planning Team within U.S. Commercial Supply Chain. Develops a high performing team and acts as an advisor to direct reports to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems, sets the strategy for the team, drives improvements in the planning processes and develops new capabilities and solutions for the team.
* The role works closely with the commercial team to reach demand and supply alignment. The role has process responsibility for development of supply and inventory plans based on demand, inventory targets and CMC/Regulatory activities. The role routinely identifies and communicates any supply risks to management and recommends and implements corrective actions to maintain inventory targets and minimize supply risks. Support demand and supply activities for new product launches and supply chain projects. Support cross functional projects focused on process and systems improvement.
* Key participant in the regional S\u0026OP process acting as interface between demand and supply points
* Advanced knowledge of the end-to-end supply chain across departments is required to highlight and anticipate risks and opportunities for supply chain planning. Has in-depth understanding of process interdependencies across the end-to-end supply chain from DS to FG, including Global Change Control (GCC), and how CMC \u0026 labeling variations impact supply to market within Regulatory implementation windows.
* This position is able to deal with high level of ambiguity and complexity, anticipates potential risks, develops corresponding contingency plans, and is capable of acting proactively in order to support strategic and/or complex decisions. The influencing and negotiation skills are important for this role as interactions and buy-in from different stakeholders and decision makers are keys.
* Serve as point of accountability for inventory across the US network including CMOs, Storage Providers, and 3PLs. Ensure cycle counts are completed per the agreement, reconciliations within the ERP system are completed, and destructions are executed timely.
* Establish and refine safety stock management policies and controls in conjunction with stakeholders, to ensure robust and compliant management
* Coordinate quarterly E\u0026O process for all US FG
* Leverage Lean Concepts and Six Sigma tools to develop and effectively implement advanced Supply Chain solutions, processes, and systems improvements to drive better inventory control and visibility

Qualifications
* Minimum 8 years working experience in a Demand \u0026 Supply Planning role with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry
* Experience working closely with Regulatory Compliance, Quality and Product Development is preferred.
* Business experience in overall planning, demand forecasting/supply planning, and evaluation of impact under various short and long term scenarios is required.
* Knowledge of tools like Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project required.
* Works diverse portfolio of programs and initiatives. Exercises independent judgment. Creates formal networks with key decision makers. May serve as external spokesperson for department. Exerts considerable influence on the overall objectives of Planning and the Programs. Provides input to not just specific planning decisions but also broader cross-functional decisions. Able to filter information and establish priorities.
* Leads cross-functional program teams within Commercial Supply Chain to meet all supply chain requirements and other strategic or continuous improvement goals.
* Should be familiar with financial analysis in a portfolio management setting. Able to communicate alternatives based on underlying economic and/or accounting drivers. Experience working within a cGMP operational environment strongly desired.
* Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Accountable for the development and implementation of solutions. Tackles issues without being asked to do so. Possesses a good balance between being detail-oriented and setting direction/approach. Works across groups. Responsible for setting project management guidelines, project standards across projects. Excels in taking on projects in trouble and bringing them to a successful conclusion; may introduce new methods to manage projects.
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or Supply Chain Management required, MBA preferred
* APICS certification (or equivalent working experience)
* Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt is an asset
