Job Description:  


Harris is looking for a software engineer to join a new product development team chartered with helping to connect, inform and protect our customers through the development of cutting edge Applications and use of LTE technologies.  Smartphones have given us unprecedented access to information and transformed the way in which we live our lives. The Harris LTE Center of Excellence will help bring a similar transformation to Law Enforcement and the Military. 


The ideal candidate must be capable of writing high quality software. They must be organized, detail oriented, analytical, and self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team or independently. They must have good communication skills, a thorough understanding of the software lifecycle. The candidate’s role will include implementing enterprise server solutions and mobile client applications. Areas of focus will include the development of advanced video tools.  Successful candidate will have experience in developing large scale production software in a disciplined engineering environment.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in designing, developing and deploying Internet and Client / Server business applications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in programming experience with Java, C/C++ on a Linux platform
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience Video Technologies including at least 2 of the following technologies: Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP), Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP), Raw H.264 Video Packetized     data (UDP)/Byte Streams(TCP), iOS hardware video encoders/decoders, VideoToolbox, AVFoundation, CoreMedia, Core Foundation                               


Additional Skills:  

  • Experience with Clustering Technologies, REST and/or SOAP Web Services, AngularJS, Non-Relational Databases
  • Strong networking and communication systems experience, including TCP/UDP, RTP, RTCP
  • Experience with n-tier enterprise applications leveraging design patterns
  • Web service development using J2EE, JBoss or similar
  • Well versed in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development and testing phases
  • Git source control management system
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work efforts and perform in a rapidly changing environment
