Design and oversee tooling projects as assigned to deliver high quality tooling to our customers in a timely, cost effective manner.





  • Design and manage tooling projects including testing, implementing, and debugging, tooling solutions in manufacturing. Tooling solutions to include welding, machining, lifting, assembly and other types of fixtures as needed.
  • Prepares quotes which are comprehensive, accurate and competitive in terms of purchased and manufactured components/materials, design/shop labor and delivery schedules.
  • Accurately maintain work request and work order records to allow us to understand our backlog and communicate realistic cost and delivery information to our customers.
  • Work with a network of external tooling suppliers to develop tooling solutions, obtain competitive quotations and manage projects through those channels.
  • Participate in design reviews and make suggestions to design engineers to improve the quality, cost and manufacturability of proposed and current designs.
  • Research and development of new and existing tooling solutions to improve quality, productivity, and reduce operating costs.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and suppliers as the job requires in a manner that facilitates teamwork.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned projects including but not limited to the following: schedule development and adherence, and budget compliance and resource management.
  • Keep abreast of new development pertinent to one’s job responsibilities through contacts with professional societies, educational centers, tool and machine manufacturers, technical papers, journals, periodicals and other sources.



  • Experience in managing projects.
  • Strong understanding of tooling and tool room practices.
  • Strong Communication skills both with customers, suppliers, and other team members.
  • Experience in applying lean principles to provide easy to use, ergonomic and safe tooling solutions.
  • Experience in Mechanical Design and Drafting principles using GD&T.
  • Experience with quality systems, and component manufacturing processes including bending, machining and welding.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Team Center / Pro E, Poly Works, and Microsoft Office Software.
  • Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Team player who can work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide leadership for change and improvement.
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
