Job Title: Staff Accountant

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic associate with a steadfast work ethic and razor-sharp mind. The Staff Accountant prepares, develops and reviews the accounting and financial information for Guitar Center, as well as provides a strong level of support to the accounting team. Specializations required in accounts payables, accounts receivables and general accounting. The Staff Accountant will assist with the monthly close process and with the preparation and analysis of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

* Prepare journal entries and accruals, both recurring and non-recurring
* Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
* Bank Reconciliations
* Preparation of supporting documentation for financial statements
* Preparation of monthly / quarterly reports for management
* Research and provide conclusions on technical accounting issues
* Prepare other ad hoc reports as required
* Additional duties as assigned.

To join our band you will need the following experience:

* Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business, Accounting, or related field
* 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience)
* Intermediate proficiency level within MS Excel (V-lookups, formulas, filtering, sorting, formatting)
* Intermediate proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Basic understanding of financial management applications such as PeopleSoft

Communication: Able to communicate through various means (including verbal & written) with diverse individuals.

Organizational Skills: Utilizes time, energy, and resources to manage priorities independently, stay on track, and achieve goals in a timely manner.

Technology Skills: Navigate and learn new technology systems, equipment, and computer programs needed to fulfill communication, customer service, and business needs & expectations.
