Apex Life Sciences has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Supply Chain Supervisor for a Specialty Chemical client! This is a well-established company in the Horsham area. The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and have experience in an ERP environment.


  • Responsible for overseeing the personnel in the Logistics department. This includes all first line management tasks.
  • Interact with Internal Sales and Customer Care to clearly understand customer requirements in order to meet them from an order fill and shipping perspective.
  • Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure manning and capacity is aligned to meet customer requirements on a daily basis.
  • Ensure the relevant system data and transactions are accurate through a right first time approach. Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for transferring stock between warehouses to maintain stock levels at remote DCs
  • Utilize computer system and logistics staff to produce work orders and issue work to floor to best meet customer expectation and department goals.
  • Responsible for assessing damaged goods, and file proper documentation to recover losses. Must also be done in a timely manner.
  • Accountable for recording all inbound goods received, and all customer-returned goods. Process all paperwork to proper departments.
  • Develop personnel and delegate tasks as needed
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations and process in the pursuit of increased efficiencies. Continuously improve ways-of-working within refining and optimizing procedures to make more efficient and train staff on same.
  • Involved in training of new personnel.
  • Responsible for checking open order status. This includes resolving problems and keeping current.
  • Responsible for negotiating minor and spot freight rates.
  • Support inventory adjustments or cycle counts in all monitored sites.
  • Responsible for opening or closing of facility.
  • Hazardous material certified.
  • Back-up for the Shipping WH Supervisor.
  • Interface with trucking companies to resolve problems concerning tracking, overage, shortages, overcharges, undercharges, duplicate bills, etc.
  • Respond to and handle questions and concerns regarding shipments to customers, from vendors, other departments, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure compliance in a in a highly regulated dangerous goods environment


  • Previous shipping and logistics experience preferably in a distribution platform.
  • Functional knowledge of Office applications like Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience working in a shipping environment preferred.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years college preferred
  • Hazmat certification a plus
