Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with almost 4000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices, is seeking a Directories and Recognitions Writer. Reporting to the Directories and Recognitions Manager, the Directories and Recognitions Writer will help advance the firm's participation in global and national directories and will assist with bringing recognition to the firm through global, national, regional, and local awards and honors. This position will draft and edit specialty award nominations and assist in the drafting and editing of legal directory submissions. In addition, this position will develop firm, office, and lawyer profiles for inclusion in directory guides and help maintain rankings and recognitions data, research awards opportunities, and report recognitions results.

Candidates must be proficient writers and researchers, creative, self-motivated and detail-oriented, committed to excellence in the workplace, and have strong organizational skills.

* Researches and writes first drafts of award nominations for Morgan Lewis, Morgan Lewis lawyers, and firm practices and programs on deadline, maintaining high writing standards and paying close attention to submission guidelines.
* Assists the Business Development team on award nominations and practice-specific directory submissions.
* Writes and edits firm profiles and lawyer biographies for inclusion in legal directories and legal publications.
* Contributes to database of results associated with success rate of award nominations.
* Collaborates with various firm departments to gather information needed for survey responses including Human Resources, Recruiting, and Diversity.
* Contributes to external communications related to recognitions, including advertisements, press releases, and social media content.
* Provides reports on the status of nominations and submissions.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline
* Outstanding editing and writing skills with a minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant writing experience, in a journalism or professional services organization
* Ability to interview lawyers to gain required information for submissions, as well as ability to research business and professional publications for critical information and data necessary to enhance award nominations and directory submissions
* Strong understanding of the legal media and legal directories environment
* Experience in a law firm strongly preferred
* Possess skills at preparing business correspondence, proposals and reports
* Ability to effectively present and relay information to peers, and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients and vendors.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Social Media
* Ability to work independently and to coordinate directly with team members inside and outside the department, including with all levels of the firm and external organizations involved in the rankings and recognitions process
* Excellent interpersonal skills and approach to internal client service

This role may be resident in our Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, or San Francisco office.
