As we expand our operations in Goodyear, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join us. You will focus on leading large-scale projects/assignments and/or play the key technical role in multiple projects/assignments requiring an exceptionally high level of unique expertise.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities
  • Controls Engineering Design Resource;
    • Perform Electrical / Controls / PLC Engineering design work
    • Evaluate Controls / Electrical / PLC Engineering solutions to problems
    • Write Machinery Control functional specifications
    • Documentation of Electrical Design changes
  • Capital Equipment / Equipment Project Support;
    • Assist in the development and writing of electrical/controls functional specifications
    • Communicate Electrical Specs/Standards to prospective suppliers
    • Communicate and verify documentation requirements met
    • Evaluate technology sufficient to meet specifications
    • Complete Electrical Portion of Safety Assessments,
    • Create electrical/controls support plans for new equipment
  • Create modifications to and maintain electrical standards and specifications (Safety, documentation, wiring practices)
  • Ability to Evaluate Controls / PLC Technology for applications within our plant
  • Provide and/or coordinate detailed quotes/estimates for Controls / PLC Engineering work
  • Provide and/or coordinate Budgetary Quotes/Estimates for Electrician work
  • Able to Design / Modify / Debug Control PLC Systems that use the plant standard
    • Technology/Software Packages (*See list)
  • Familiar with NEC, NFPA79, and NFPA70E and other local and national codes that need to be met for electrical equipment.
Secondary Roles & Responsibilities
  • Working with enterprise resources establishes a capable equipment supply chain. Special attention to System Integrators for control systems.
  • Use DMAIC & PDCA tools; when to apply them, interpret results and apply them for effective solutions - process map, process capability, fishbone diagram, FMEA, DOE, control plan, etc...to drive continuous improvement activity.
  • Assessment of existing equipment for process, capacity, functional capabilities and obsolescence (legacy). Provide plan and prioritization for dealing with machines that have obsolete / unsupportable control systems.
  • Identify Cost Reduction opportunities. Lead or participate on project team to implement Controls Engineering solutions. Effectively use Poke-Yoke to reduce operator complexity.
  • Use A3 Policy Deployment as a tool to identify, prioritize, and implement improvement projects.
  • Utilize sound project management tools such as Stage Gate and PMBOK for complex projects and key initiative
  • Participate in TPM process and OEE tracking to improve equipment reliability.
  • Work with Electrical Maintenance group to assist in troubleshooting issues that can not be handled within electrical maintenance group.
  • Provide Electrical Engineering / Controls / PLC Engineering Support as needed for projects; support would vary from direct support to assistance in locating qualified local contract resources.
  • Setup and manage predictive maintenance technologies and programs, e.g., thermography, vibration analysis, remote & equipment monitoring systems, etc...

Qualifications
  • 4-year Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in complex projects/assignments impacting corporate-wide interests and long-term business goals.
  • Possesses distinguished level of knowledge often acquired by completing an advanced academic degree or equivalent specialized training.
  • Recognized company-wide expert in one or more areas of technical work.
