Description

AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a NPI Quality Engineer to join our team in Hesston, KS. The NPI Quality Engineer will enhance, foster and improve preventive Design quality as well as drive sustainable and long term improvement of field quality through design.  He/she will support AGCO´s objective to become number one in customer perceived quality and coordinate and supervise all quality related tasks in NPI, execute assigned quality tasks in NPI, interface to quality engineers in supply, build, and field.

What Will You Do:

  • Manufacturing Project charter and schedule: contributes to creation
  • Supervises Manufacturing Bill Of Materials review
  • Voice-of-the-Customer: Responsible for transfer of field insights to definition of specifications and requirements for new product development.
  • Design FEMA: Moderates DFMEA team, is responsible for definition of counter measures to reduce recognized risks, and controls action item execution
  • Design Verification Plan and Report: significant involvement in definition, maintenance and reporting results
  • Manufacturing Feasibility Study: team member, perform quality related aspects together with quality engineers build
  • Process FMEA: team member, forms interface to NPI-project in case of necessary design measures to reduce quality defect risks
  • Key Product & Process Characteristics – KCC&KSP – control plan – work instructions: is responsible for supervision of KCC&KSP definition, control plans and quality relevant aspects in work instructions, in collaboration with quality engineers build
  • Support Prototype Builds: team member, forms interface to NPI-project for required design measures
  • Tooling, Equipment and Gages: interface from NPI-process to quality engineer build
  • Work Station Design: team member
  • Process Verification: team member
  • Error and Mistake Proofing: managing in collaboration with quality engineers build
  • Evidence of Product Specification & Test Completion / run at rate demonstration: responsible, select and witness the measurement of specific product and/or process characteristics. Attends run at rate tests
  • Develop Manufacturing KPI Metrics: contributes to definition, signification involvement in definition of quality related KPI´s
  • Packaging and Shipping Specifications: contributes, if quality relevant
  • Gage and Test Equipment Evaluation: contributes, is informed, assures that DMFEA results are integrated and respected
  • Continuous Improvement & 30-60-90 Day Reviews: responsible team member for quality related issues
  • Manufacturing OK to Produce Criteria: responsible for definition, verification, initiation of counter measures if required, tracking of measure implementation, escalation if required
  • Manufacturing Executive Summary Dashboard: team member, responsible for quality relevant aspects
  • Manufacturing Cost Summary: responsible for quality relevant aspects

  • Major impact to future product generation´s quality and thereby customer satisfaction
  • Weak design cannot be compensated for and can lead to detrimental quality impact throughout the entire value chain
  • Product design determines 70% of production and supply cost

 Area of Impact

  •  Future field quality KPI´s, customer satisfaction – product design according to customer expectations
  • Production and supply KPI – design-for-manufacturing, reduction of non-conformance efforts
  • Key metrics of design – design schedule and development quality gates, in-time & in-budget development  

ESSENTIAL SKILLS 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology
  • 3+ years of experience in product design processes in an agricultural equipment manufacturing industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience, skills and responsibility is preferred and may be required.
