PURPOSE: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Enterprise category strategy. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will focus on strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management to ensure stability of the supply chain, manage and mitigate risk, and deliver a competitive advantage for the Enterprise. This position will lead strategic and tactical initiatives in collaboration with other functional areas including engineering, operations, RD&I, quality, and finance.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert in initiatives that drive value across the enterprise.
  • Develop and actively manage key strategic partnerships that create long-term, win-win commitments between our organizations and drive improvements in the area of cost, quality, delivery, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement enterprise strategies for the category area of responsibility with cross functional support that improves the position of the company.
  • Drive "Best in Class" practices while developing strong supplier relationships. Keep abreast of procurement best practices and regulations for domestic and international business relationships.
  • Has expertise in commodity management across business units through understanding of business requirements, market trends and through underling cost factors, and reliability in achieving company objectives.
  • Understand and capitalize on market dynamics of the supply base and communicate changes in strategies as required.
  • Negotiate agreements that properly address risk, sustainability and meets business demands at the lowest total acquisition cost.
  • Develop strong collaborative partnerships with business and operations leadership to drive to common objectives.
  • Ensure that specifications are adhered to and that suppliers can fulfill contractual obligations prior to business being awarded.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement within technology solutions, supply base, business processes, systems and tools, etc.
  • Expert in problem solving. Effective in the identification and resolution of issues, concerns, or problems using formal problem solving techniques.
  • Strong customer service attitude and experience.

  • Proven leader who creates energy, lives integrity, leads change, creates a vision and plans, inspires people to achieve goals, develops people and delivers results.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business strategy, proven ability to evaluate and understand key market dynamics and proficient in complex negotiations
  • Ability to teach, coach and mentor and influence all levels of individuals in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement and Supplier Management principles.
  • Ability to address performance issues and support individuals in identifying and removing performance barriers.
  • Results orientation - ensuring work is completed on time, on budget and within quality parameters.
  • Proven success as a Strategic Sourcing Manager with total cost management experience.
  • Required BA or BS in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field of study
  • Preferred MBA in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field of study.
  • Seven to Ten years in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain or related functional area.
