Your Impact<\/h1>
The Standards Developer manages projects to develop quality Reliability Standards that effectively mitigate risks to the BPS. The Standards Developer works closely with subject matter experts, NERC staff, and federal regulators to ensure that Reliability Standards are technically correct, clear, and measurable. The Standards Developer is responsible for adhering to the NERC Rules of Procedure to satisfy requirements of due process, openness, assuring reasonable notice and opportunity for public comment, and the balance of interests. This position reports to the Manager of Standards Development.<\/p>

Your Impact<\/h1>
The Standards Development Administrator will administer standards registration, balloting, and electronic systems for NERC’s Standards Information area along with providing administrative support of a varied nature to the Standards Development area. The Standards Development Administrator reports to the Manager of Standard Information.<\/p>
Your Role<\/h1>
The Standards Development Administrator will support multiple, concurrent Standards Development projects and activities through tasks including the following:<\/p>
- Prepare and post meeting agendas, minutes, draft standards, and related documents to the NERC website to reflect the status of Standards Development efforts.<\/li>
- Maintain the public NERC Standards calendar for all project-related Standards Development, drafting team meetings, workshops, webinars, and other items as needed.<\/li>
- Respond to industry stakeholder inquiries related to Standards Development processes and supporting systems.<\/li>
- Administer the standard registration and balloting processes by preparing ballot events, helping stakeholders register to become members of the Registered Ballot Body, and fielding technical questions associated with registration and balloting.<\/li>
- Maintain a public record of NERC Standards Development activities in accordance with the current NERC Rules of Procedure by maintaining, providing quality assurance review of, and recommending improvements to the public NERC Reliability Standards webpages.<\/li>
- Conduct extensive and frequent document reviews for project-related Standards Development and other ad-hoc items as needed.<\/li>
- Administer electronic systems for the collection and publication of stakeholder comments on standard-related projects. <\/li>

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:<\/strong><\/p>
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred.<\/li>
- Two or more years’ work experience in a high-volume production environment.<\/li>
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including ability to use advanced formatting with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. <\/li>
- Exceptional focus and diligence. Skills in proofing, editing, or other detailed work.<\/li>
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, including excellent grammar and spelling. <\/li>
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. <\/li>
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and accept shifting priorities.<\/li><\/ul>
Preferred candidates will also have:<\/strong><\/p>
- Experience with administering web content, understanding of process to place content on webpages.<\/li>
- Working knowledge of NERC’s standards process.<\/li>
- Strong organizational skills.<\/li>

Your Impact<\/h1>
The Standards Development Analyst reports to the Director of Standards Development and serves as a critical technical partner to Standard Developers while supporting multiple projects. The Standards Development Analyst ensures the technical excellence and completeness of project documentation with supporting compliance, engineering, and cybersecurity information.<\/p>
Your Role<\/h1>
Support multiple, concurrent standard development projects and activities including:<\/p>
- Partner with multiple Standards Developers to develop NERC Reliability Standards project supporting documentation.<\/li>
- Support the development of high-quality technical documentation including, but not limited to: technical rationales, Violation Risk Factors\/Violation Severity Level justifications, responses to FERC directives, and supplemental materials.<\/li>
- Ensure documentation is thoroughly scrutinized through a compliance, engineering, and cybersecurity lens.<\/li>
- Participate in technical workshops, quality reviews, comment response efforts, and other supporting tasks as needed.<\/li>
- Draft summaries, stakeholder communications, and detailed technical reports to support Standards Authorization Requests (SARs) and development milestones.<\/li>
- Assist in designing and executing field tests.<\/li>
- Assist in the development of presentations, briefings, seminars, news articles, and workshops.<\/li><\/ul>
- Support the analysis of technical data from entities, tests, and field implementations to validate feasibility and identify risks or improvement areas.<\/li>
- Contribute to statistical summaries and visualization of key reliability or performance metrics, using data analysis and visualization software packages.<\/li>
- Stay up-to-date with Compliance and Engineering guidance documents.<\/li>
- Collaborate with compliance, security, planning, operations, and enforcement subject matter experts to integrate practical insights into standard development.<\/li>
- Facilitate solution-oriented dialogue across internal departments and external stakeholders.<\/li>
- Provide technical briefings to internal staff, drafting teams, or industry working groups as needed.<\/li>
- Understand current Standards Department and Standards Information Team processes.<\/li>

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:<\/strong><\/p>
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.<\/li>
- Engineer with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electric power industry and\/or a J.D. licensed to practice law in at least one state with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric power industry drafting policy, regulation, legislation or other guidance material.<\/li>
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.<\/li>
- Ability to manage priorities in order to meet set milestones and deadlines.<\/li>
- Competence in interpersonal communications, with the ability to interact with people from many levels of industry.<\/li>
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.<\/li>
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and TEAMS.<\/li>
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly.<\/li><\/ul>
