Position Description: Landrum is looking for a Community Relations Specialist to join our growing team out of the Greenville, SC office. WHAT DOES THE COMMUNITY RELATIONS SPECIALIST DO: Event Strategy & Planning
- Assist in the development and implementation of an annual events strategy aligned with organizational goals and engagement priorities.
- Identify key opportunities for thought leadership, sponsorships, and brand visibility through events.
- Work cross-functionally to integrate events with marketing, sales, and executive initiatives.
- Execute all aspects of event planning from concept to completion, including, budgets, timeless, vendors, permits, catering, AV, registration, and post-event follow-up.
- Oversee on-site execution of events to ensure seamless operations and problem- solving in real-time when needed.
- Oversee events remotely in collaboration with in-market sales teams.
- Maintain a calendar of internal and external events, ensuring proper resourcing and stakeholder communication.
- Execute internal and external community outreach initiatives (with centers of influence at local non-profits, businesses, and partner organizations).
- Create and maintain lists of influential community contacts in CRM (Salesforce).
- Attends and actively participates in a variety of social and business events on behalf of the company (some may be outside of traditional work hours).
- Build and nurture relationships with local organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to promote events and enhance community presence.
- Process and coordinate sponsorships and memberships with chambers of commerce, economic development councils, and other partners, including coordination of company leaders, etc.
- Create and distribute/publish press releases and media alerts, outreach to appropriate media outlets for publication.
- Maintain crisis management contact list, procedures, and documentation.
- Connect with and maintain relationships with authors, reports, media contacts, experts, community partners, and other stakeholders to build relationships that will help with procuring opportunities, publishing original content, securing speaking opportunities, etc.
- Procure opportunities for speaking engagements for our SMEs, and for Landrum staff to be quoted in, author articles for, be interviewed for, or otherwise engage with industry-specific publications, events, and organizations.
- Ensure brand messages are consistent in all materials that cross your desk.
- Coordinate and execute audio and video shoots.
- Utilizes marketing automation to automate email marketing processes (Salesforce product).
- Proofreads content for errors and inconsistencies.
- Distributes content to online channels (blog, e-blasts, SMS, etc) to increase web traffic, leads, and candidate applications.
- Stays up to date with developments and generate new ideas to draw the audiences attention within the relevant industries.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, marketing, advertising, or related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in the field is required.
- Has strong community connections and relationships in the business community with the ability to diplomatically leverage relationships and broker connections for business development.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Valid drivers license and your own reliable vehicle required
- Must be located in the Greater Greenville, SC area
- This role does report to an office.
