Proposes, designs, develops and deploys new products by using design tools such as SolidWorks CAD, FEA, Thermal Analyses and DFMEA. Project management through the use of the 3D Process (Design, Develop and Deploy), RACI charts, project risk analyses and milestone signoffs with senior managers will be required. Manages the production of prototypes on the floor, providing support to manufacturing. Product performance validation through testing and analyses will be required.


WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE:

  • Propose, design, develop and deploy new products

  • Create SolidWorks models and drawings, BOM's and Routers for new products

  • Validate designs, create and test prototypes

  • Project management including scope, timelines and resources

  • Support production during prototype runs

  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management and end-users to generate new product ideas and validate new designs

  • Support NPI activities during commercialization and product launch. Conduct NPI training for sales, customer care, and customers.

  • Design and develop customized versions of our catalog items

  • Participate in industry committees and standards working groups.

  • Back up for sustaining activities (Engineering Action Requests and Engineering Change Orders) and manufacturing, quality and purchasing technical support.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or other Engineering discipline, MS preferred

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in mechanical product design

  • Experience in SolidWorks CAD modeling and drafting (or similar CAD software)

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (SolidWorks Simulation or similar software)

  • Experience with Thermal Analysis (SolidWorks Flow Simulation or similar software)

  • Experience with Liquid Cooled Technology (particularly Liquid Flow Through) design and simulation highly desired (ANSYS or similar software)

  • Strong Project Management Experience

  • Timeline management and leadership skills needed

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP/PLM Systems)

  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Exceptional team work and interpersonal skills

Pay Transparency

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$83,500.00 - $155,200.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
