The Part-Time Fitness Attendant is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience at the Fitness Center within the Mandel Recreation Center. This highly visible, customer service-oriented position involves greeting patrons, maintaining facility cleanliness and safety, and supporting Recreation Center operations. We are looking for enthusiastic team players who are dependable, adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Greet and assist all guests in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
- Monitor the Fitness Center floor, ensuring safety and cleanliness at all times.
- Clean and sanitize fitness equipment, free weights, mats, and surrounding areas regularly.
- Fold, restock, and manage towel service for members and guests.
- Assist with minor custodial duties and ensure the facility remains neat and welcoming.
- Register participants for fitness classes, personal training sessions, and recreation programs using a computerized POS system.
- Enforce facility rules and policies in a courteous, consistent manner.
- Support Recreation Center activities and events as needed, including program setup and breakdown.
- Provide front desk coverage and respond to phone and in-person inquiries.
- Maintain current knowledge of fitness and recreation programs, schedules, and facility updates to effectively communicate with patrons.
* High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
* Must be able to successfully pass a credit check.
* Experience within the Recreation Field is preferred.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills.
* Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and safety protocols.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems and handling cash transactions.
* Willingness to adapt to different roles and responsibilities as needed within the facility.
* Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behavior.
