Logistics Analyst, Ann Sacks

Opportunity
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Sales
Enablement and Planning, this position is responsible for analyzing, developing
and optimizing the inbound shipment strategy, coordinating inbound purchase
orders, and creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for all inbound
logistical functions. The logistics analyst will serve as the subject matter
expert for all things related to inbound logistics, provide analysis to drive
efficiencies, and collaborate cross functionally to ensure information flows to
operations and planning functions.
Specific Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize
the selection of transportation mode and specific carriers based on cost,
transit time, vessel sailings, and determination of ports of
embarkation/debarkation, equipment availability, and need.
- Lead the negotiation
of ocean freight rates, international airfreight rates, international
freight forwarder & customhouse brokers' fees, and inland freight
rates with carriers and carrier rate-making conferences.
- Track and organize
containers; contact the appropriate couriers for each vendor.
- Provide incoming
shipment docs to warehouse teams.
- Leads and manages Broker/Courier
relationships.
- Monitor the cost
effectiveness and level of service provided on import shipments, and
recommend routing charges to applicable purchasing areas when warranted.
- Ensure customs
import/export compliance and adherence to other governmental trade
regulations.
- Work on CBP requirements- customs requirements, Free Trade Agreements.
- Develop analysis to drive
logistical optimization and communication with warehouse teams.
- Address reporting
needs: Entering freight invoice information on static freight report,
execute packing list updates, and generating open order reports.
- Collaborates with Kohler Logistics to leverage
relationships with freight companies.
Skills/Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of
experience in a logistics or supply chain environment required.
- A bachelor's degree in
business administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field strongly
preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
- Knowledge
of customs import/export compliance and other governmental trade regulations is
highly desired. Technical skills/experience preferred: HTS, EDI 310,
track-trace for containers.
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
