The Galesburg Fire and Police Commission is actively recruiting interested candidates to apply for the Firefighter position to establish an eligibility list for the Galesburg Fire Department.

The eligibility list is valid for a two-year period. Applicants may test at age 20 but must be 21 years old by date of appointment or not more than 35 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or G.E.D, a U.S. Citizen and be of good moral character.

Applicants must be able to successfully pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph exam, psychological exam as well as a pre-employment physical (including but not limited to a vision, hearing and drug test) to be hired.
