Full Job Description
GN Hearing Care Corporation
(d/b/a Jabra Audio)
has an opening at its location in Dover, New Hampshire for the position of Senior Acoustic Engineer. Drive and execute acoustic components of new product development, including transducer selection, acoustic design, system tuning, verification through audio measurement of subsystems and full product. Drive audio verification of new firmware releases and hardware changes on existing products. Examine and select new technologies related to the audio field. Analyze audio system requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine project feasibility. Define audio requirements for new projects. Oversee the audio lab by maintaining software and hardware equipment, driving continual improvement, and aligning test methods with other sites. Confer with engineers and senior leadership to discuss new product development. Provide technical support regarding design standards. Oversee projects of junior engineers to ensure effective rollout of company software. Full Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Acoustics Engineering, Electronics Engineering with a specialization in audio/acoustics, or a related field plus three years of experience in acoustics or DSP for consumer electronics as well as audio algorithms (voice pick-up/noise reduction, active noise cancellation, auto-gain calibration, or sidetone). One year of this experience must also include experience with acoustic simulation and use of audio measurement software (SoundCheck or AudioPrecision). In lieu of a Masters Degree plus three years of experience, employer will also accept a Bachelors degree in Acoustics Engineering, Electronics Engineer with a specialization in audio/acoustics, or a related field plus five years of progressive, post-bachelors experience in acoustics or DSP for consumer electronics as well as audio algorithms (voice pick-up/noise reduction, active noise cancellation, auto-gain calibration, or sidetone). One year of this experience must also include experience with acoustic simulation and use of audio measurement software (SoundCheck or AudioPrecision). This position requires some international travel, up to a few times per year for a duration of one to two weeks per trip.
