Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer encompasses support for our software platforms including (but not limited to) release engineering, release automation, program management, software deployment and configuration, as well as system monitoring across the technology stack. This role requires an in-depth knowledge and experience with software systems, test automation frameworks and a deep understanding of software services and architecture, as well as proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, and success with mentoring and leading teams.

Job Responsibilities:

Plans, designs, develops, and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
Develops software applications and tools using Agile, Waterfall, or other development methodologies.
Delivers software features with exceptional quality, meeting designated release plans
Delivers systems and associated infrastructure with required availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency to meet the organizational standards.
Contributes to and participates actively in the design, architecture and build phases aimed at producing high quality product deliverables.
Participates in the evaluation of compatibility programs with existing communications hardware and software features.
Interacts with internal and external peers, stakeholders, and managers to exchange complex information. guide software architecture and drive technology decisions.
Applies professional expertise, in conjunction with company policies and procedures, to resolve issues as they arise in creative ways.
Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.
Mentors less experienced members of the team.

External Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in a technical role OR High school Diploma / GED and at least 5 years of experience in a technical role.
Experience in Technology infrastructure, such as Infrastructure, Systems, Databases, or similar
Experience configuring/administrating moderately complex technical solutions
Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications
Experience developing with an Agile methodology
Excellent knowledge in implementation of CI/CD pipelines for Cloud deployments using containers/Docker
Strong demonstrable experience in GIT Workflows, Pipelines, and code repository management
Experience in working on Kubernetes platform on a microservices architecture and other DevOps tooling
Good understanding of infrastructure components (e.g. databases, networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization)
Previous experience with full stack development ranging from front-end user interfaces to back-end systems
Expert-level knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing and operations
Strong demonstrated experience of Enterprise Integration design patterns in development of loosely coupled and resilient systems
Strong knowledge of implementation, security, capacity planning and performance tuning of solutions deployed to Cloud technologies – Azure (ACS, AKS), Google, IBM, AWS or Cloud Foundry
Knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing and operations
Experience with integrating with back-end services (APIs, GraphQL etc.)
