Job Description Summary

Develop materials supporting company-wide strategic initiatives reliant upon strong financial analysis, cross functional coordination, and tailored for internal and external stakeholder (boards, investors, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Execute action plans in support of strategic initiatives or special projects as assigned. This includes leading confidential, complex, non-public projects across multiple executive stakeholder groups, committees, and boards.
  • Lead execution of corporate governance processes, including coordination with corporate secretarial, chiefs of staff, and Aegon Board Office staff.
  • Significant responsibility working across functions and business units in the creation and alignment of business plans, presentations, and other materials for strategic initiatives. These materials are anchored in the use of data and financial analysis reflecting investment and BMTP targets and commitments. As such, the individual in this role must have a strong working acumen across different accounting methodologies and have an eye for identifying any inconsistencies or irregularities in data.
  • Provide communication, coordination and updates to various stakeholder groups supporting initiatives, ex. Chiefs of Staff.
  • Work with executives and leadership to align priorities, actions, and communications in support of organizational goals & objectives.
  • Support CAO with analysis and recommendations on projects as assigned.
  • Act as a visible leader in Cedar Rapids, Iowa supporting employee culture, volunteerism, and foundation focused events as needed or assigned.
  • Perform routine duties within the CAO office such as producing budgets and reviewing expense reports.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CAO.

Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance / financial services industry required.
  • Project management experience leading complex, cross-functional/cross-business unit initiatives.
  • Deep experience in finance including producing, analyzing, and reviewing financially focused presentations which integrate with strategic plan proposals.
  • Experience working with executive stakeholder groups, boards, governance committees, external stakeholders, etc.
  • Experience maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
  • Executive presence, articulate, and ability to maintain diplomacy and build relationships.
  • Strategic thinker who uses analytical skills and data to drive decision making.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High achiever demonstrating ownership & accountability but amiable to a transformational environment that that is emergent with innovation.
