SYSTEMS OPERATOR IN TRAINING (SO-IT) – PLANT FARLEY

Job Description We are currently seeking qualified individuals interested in becoming a Systems Operator in Training at Farley Nuclear Power Plant. Be part of a talented and progressive team that works well together. You must be committed to the success of your peers as well as your own. In this position, the candidate will initially enter an approximate 12-month training program to become a Systems Operator. Once successfully trained, the Systems Operator is responsible for operating various parts of the nuclear plant to ensure safe, efficient operation of facility. Systems Operators in Training will attend the in-house training with no collateral duties. Operators are responsible for the monitoring of equipment, performance of valve and system operation evolutions, and performance of unit evolution and cleanliness of equipment in assigned areas of the plant. They are expected to maintain satisfactory performance in system operator requalification program and progress towards qualification as plant operator. The candidate must consistently meet and demonstrate the expectations of Southern Company Values and Principles of Nuclear operation. This position is covered under a collective bargaining unit and has a starting wage of $45.45/hr. Requirements Education Requirements – (will meet at least 1 of the following 4 requirements) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fundamental Job Duties Physical / Mental Requirements Other Requirements This position is covered under a collective bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the bargaining unit’s Memorandum of Understanding.
