We are a fast-growing, dynamic company seeking a Federal Sales Account Manager to join us in our DC office located in Arlington, VA.
Job Summary:
The Federal Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth across territories within North America by developing strong customer, dealer, and government agency relationships. This role manages the full sales cycle, coordinates with internal teams, and represents Astrophysics at industry events.This position requires domestic travel, approximately 50% of the time.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed targets with agencies such as DoD, DHS, TSA, State Department, and others.
- Prospect and qualify new opportunities while managing and expanding existing accounts.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and Statements of Work in response to federal solicitations.
- Deliver presentations and demonstrations tailored to government customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support major proposal efforts and ensure successful delivery.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences and agency events.
- Track opportunities and manage pipeline using CRM tools, submitting accurate forecasts and reports.
- Maintain customer communication throughout long procurement cycles to ensure responsiveness and satisfaction
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
- 5-10 years of federal sales or business development experience, preferably in security, defense, or technology.
- Knowledge of U.S. Federal acquisition and procurement processes, including RFPs/RFIs.
- Proven success preparing proposals and achieving/exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Compensation/Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Base Salary: $90k - $110k
- Commission: Typically $30k-$50k annually; high performers may exceed $70k+
- Total Earnings Potential: $120k-$160k+ annually, with exceptional performance exceeding $180k+
- Exempt
- Full-Time
- Hours: 8am - 5pm
