Course descriptions: <\/strong>\nFinancial Accounting (ACC1000)<\/em> will provide you with an introduction to the Construction, Analysis and Forecasting of Financial Statements. These financial statements consist of the income statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows as well as the associated explanatory statement footnotes. Using actual entrepreneurial companies as well as publicly traded companies you will learn how to prepare, analyze, interpret and forecast financial statements. By the conclusion of the course, you will be able to forecast and analyze financial statements for investment decisions as well as to model and analyze the financial effects of different strategic directions as an owner of the company. These skills will benefit you in whatever career path you choose.\nManagerial Accounting (ACC2002)<\/em> builds on knowledge acquired in Financial Accounting. The objective of the course is to help students develop the skillset needed to identify, measure and analyze relevant information for making strategically-appropriate decisions in the pursuit of superior financial performance. This skillset is critical for all entrepreneurs and business managers. The course explores how costs are measured and viewed, how costs relate to revenues, and how both costs and revenues will react to proposed business actions. The course covers a variety of topics related to the measurement of operational results, including how measurement can motivate appropriate business behavior. It challenges students to use their newly-acquired skills to evaluate the design and measurement of business operations, to select beneficial tactical actions, and to make strategic business decisions.

ADJUNCT LECTURER IN BUSINESS LAW
Course Description: LAW1000 is an introduction to business law and the legal system. It teaches students to identify, analyze, and handle legal issues which commonly occur in the business setting and to use law to create and capture value for businesses in areas such as contracts, business organizations and intellectual property. The course surveys a number of additional business law topics, such as torts and crimes, product liability, agency and employment, consumer protection, and securities law.

The Kerry Murphy Healey Center for Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship (KMH Center) exists to activate entrepreneurial thinkers in leaders in health-related fields (healthcare delivery, devices, digital health, and drug development). GHE achieves this goal by creating opportunities for Babson faculty, students, and the greater health sector, to apply Babson\u2019s Entrepreneurial Thought and Action (ET&A) methodology to the world\u2019s greatest healthcare challenges.
WHAT YOU WILL DO<\/b><\/p>
<\/p>
Grows and leads the Center\u2019s Badging\/Tracks (Undergraduate) and Intensity Track (Graduate) Efforts, including completing forms, organizing meetings with relevant departments, setting up Canvas sites and Folio tracking systems. Works with Associate Director to secure undergraduate and graduate program funding and manage donor relationships.<\/p>
<\/p>
Leads programming\/events connected to Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship (e.g., Speaker Series, Senior Fellows, Student Case Competitions, advisory board meetings, Back to Babson Breakfast, Global Health Week Event, and Entrepreneurship Week Signature Event).<\/p>
<\/p>
Creates and processes invoices, suppliers, contracts, purchase orders; creates surveys, QR codes; orders supplies; on behalf of the Center.<\/p>
<\/p>
Leads the selection process of the KMH Center Senior Fellows, with input from the Associate Director of the Kerry Murphy Healey Center for Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Leads the monthly Senior Fellows Meetings with students.<\/p>
<\/p>
Deepens student engagement on entrepreneurial leadership in healthcare. Specifically, collaborates with other campus departments and student organizations to execute programming as relevant; serves as principal connector for semi-annual events with the Graduate and Undergraduate Centers for Career Development (CCD) and Babson Miami.<\/p>
<\/p>
Works closely with the Associate Director of the Kerry Murphy Healey Center for Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship to create and support new opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in the health fields with local and international organizations.<\/p>
<\/p>
Meets semi-annually with KMH Center Affiliate Faculty to share opportunities for involvement and gather new ideas. Updates relevant courses and other opportunities for faculty involvement each semester.<\/p>

Manage various miscellaneous tasks including scheduling meetings, recording and organizing minutes; planning travel and events; managing the program\u2019s institutional memory; assisting in managing the Fund budget and payments to third parties; and creating marketing materials (brochures, flyers, newsletters, etc.) and event registration.<\/p>

WHAT YOU WILL DO<\/b><\/p>
<\/p>
Operate, adjust, and inspect all buildings\u2019 HVAC, refrigeration systems and auxiliary equipment and components to detect hazards, malfunctions, the need for adjustment and\/or replacement to such items as controls, thermostats, as well as other similar types of related equipment; monitor HVAC\/R equipment and operating schedules on campus through the energy management software system and make the necessary corrections and adjustments to meet the buildings\u2019 established operating guidelines.<\/p>
<\/p>
Maintain all buildings\u2019 HVAC, refrigeration systems, auxiliary equipment and components such as cooling towers, pumps, and other related types of equipment.<\/p>
<\/p>
Repair or replace all buildings\u2019 faulty HVAC, refrigeration equipment, motors, controls, valves, towers, dampers, regulators, gaskets, flanges, seals, pumps, draft fans and compressors, including deficiencies in related systems such as chilled water or condenser water loops.<\/p>
<\/p>
Analyze and perform diagnostic testing and analysis of buildings\u2019 HVAC and refrigeration equipment, hot and chilled water systems, to isolate and identify the root causes of systems\u2019 failure or inadequate performance; develop interim and permanent solutions for identified systems\u2019 failures; participate in campus audits to determine optimal operating procedures and develop new operating strategies.<\/p>
<\/p>
Document all repairs, maintenance and comments on assigned service work order slips; record routine system(s) equipment readings, responses to equipment alarms, maintenance work performed and other pertinent information in applicable equipment logs and databases; record all refrigerant usage and stock on hand according to Federal guidelines; collect and maintain files of documents and diagrams generated from field investigations of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.<\/p>
<\/p>
Act as a work site coordinator for executing work involving other in-house technicians and contractors, to keep systems functioning within original design operating parameters; recommend repairs or different treatments to any and all HVAC and refrigeration systems at Babson College.<\/p>

Creates, leads, and maintains a world-class advisory board to support the development and growth of the Center; includes individuals from a variety of backgrounds and fields including impactful alumni, global business leaders, experts in healthcare, life sciences and entrepreneurship, and other appropriate stakeholders that act as a strategic sounding board and guidance provider for the Center.<\/p>

Partners with appropriate Babson College units (i.e., President\u2019s Office, Academic Affairs, Division Chairs, Undergraduate School, Graduate School, Executive Education, Advancement, College Marketing) to advance shared objectives, amplify Babson\u2019s curriculum and advance strategic priorities.<\/p>

Works closely with the Advancement team to identify and pursue funding opportunities, and continuously create new ways to engage alumni, parents, sponsors, foundations, and other key stakeholders to help drive giving to the Center. Serves as the \u201cvoice\u201d of the Blank Center within the internal Babson community and other divisions. - Architect Babson\u2019s Azure Data Factory and Data Fabric environment, laying the foundation for a modern ETL environment.<\/li>
- Work with clients and project managers to identify and gather integration requirements and ultimately determine and\/or recommend best methods for integrating systems. <\/li>
- Set up and support a variety of integrations. Collaborate with the appropriate third parties and relevant stakeholders to troubleshoot and support integrations once they are live. <\/li>
- Participate in creation of project requirements and technical designs.<\/li>

- Develop and maintain innovative Azure solutions.<\/li>

- Manage a caseload of undergraduate and\/or graduate student accounts handling billing, collections, late fees, account holds, third party billing, and developing and authorizing student-specific strategies to get accounts settled.<\/li>
- Provide a high level of customer service to students, parents, and Babson staff in person, via phone, or through email communication which includes being part of the SFS call rotation responding to questions about student accounts, financial aid, and financing options. <\/li>
- Plan and communicate billing\/payment cycles and manage billing set-up.<\/li>
- Monitor outstanding receivables; analyze and report on trends. <\/li>
- Research, analyze, and authorize settlements of outstanding student balances to ensure amounts owed to Babson College are collected in a timely manner.<\/li>
- Perform monthly outreach to payment plan participants who are delinquent with payments.<\/li>
- Utilize Workday other software systems to maintain accurate records and track student accounts, ensuring compliance with best practices for documentation and reporting.<\/li>
- Reconcile accounts to the College\u2019s general ledger.<\/li>
- Support the receipt of incoming payments including cash, check, credit card, online payments, payment plan disbursements, and enrollment deposits. Support the refund process including approving EFT and paper check refunds.<\/li>
- Manage designated programs\/processes including payment plans, extended payment plans, tuition adjustments, meal plan changes, book vouchers, fellowship\/assistantship hour tracking, separation processing, and updating publication materials.<\/li>
- Plan and coordinate business processes with third-party service providers (e.g., Nelnet and University Health Plans), as well as key departments on campus (e.g., Controller\/Finance Office, Registrar, Accounts Payable, Undergraduate\/Graduate Admissions, Academic Services, Graduate Programs and Student Affairs, Housing, Campus Life, Chartwells, and Follett).<\/li>
- Represent Babson\u2019s mission, goals, and customer-service orientation in all work-related settings.<\/li>
