Job Description:
Berklee is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Program Associate to support the Independent Recording and Production (IRP) program within the Music Production & Engineering (MP&E) Department. This is a student-facing, service-oriented role ideal for someone who thrives in a creative, innovative, and collaborative environment.
As the primary point of contact for the IRP program, the Program Associate plays a key role in shaping the student experience—managing day-to-day program operations, supporting faculty and visiting artists, coordinating events, and ensuring smooth and effective delivery of academic and administrative services. The Associate will also lead student hiring, manage advising and course enrollment activities, and serve as a liaison between the department and other areas of the college.
This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about music, education, and student success who wants to work in a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-thinking community.
Key Responsibilities
· Support all operational aspects of the IRP program and act as first point of contact for student and faculty needs.
· Advise students on program requirements and manage enrollment and declaration activities.
· Maintain and update the department website and communication materials.
· Hire, train, and supervise office student employees.
· Oversee logistics and planning for visiting artists, including contracts, travel, and payments.
· Track program budgets and reconcile purchasing activity.
· Manage faculty support needs such as office hours, substitutes, and additional compensation.
· Coordinate department events including the annual Senior Showcase and Majors/Minors Fair.
· Support departmental calendar management and communications.
Who You Are
· A natural organizer with strong attention to detail, budget tracking experience, and excellent communication skills.
· Able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and a student-centered mindset.
· Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a creative, fast-paced environment.
· Committed to equity, inclusion, and working with diverse students, staff, and faculty.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
· Familiarity with audio production and/or music industry terminology is a plus.
· Proficient in Mac OS and office systems (Workday, Excel, FileMaker, etc.).
