The Symbology Infrastructure team helps unify content sets, empowering applications to seamlessly integrate with the rich and diverse data FactSet offers. By delivering fast and reliable services, we empower clients with access to over 200 GB of symbology data, resolving nearly 150 billion daily requests. As a member of this critical infrastructure team, you’ll collaborate with teams across the organization to drive solutions that impact core FactSet platforms. This is a hybrid role, where your contributions will directly enhance the reliability, performance, and functionality of Tier-0, mission critical, services.
What You'll Do
Monitor and maintain the reliability of highly performant symbology services, ensuring continuous availability across FactSet’s data ecosystem.
Implement software enhancements to improve service performance, scalability, and data accessibility using C++, Python, Terraform, and more to create services running on Linux.
Collaborate with product teams to understand integration needs, identify opportunities for solutions, and deliver improvements that empower FactSet applications and clients.
Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and support best engineering practices within a dynamic team environment.
Serve as a technical resource, partnering with stakeholders to address reliability issues, resolve data concerns, and share technical insights.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Thorough understanding of modern C++ and STL
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and Python
Desire to both design and implement reliable and superior software
Experience working on Linux
Desired Skills
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and deployment methodologies
Working with and managing a large code base
Programming in a multi-threaded, distributed environment
Experience with version control tools such as Git
Education:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
