Overview

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to fiber assembly and the assembly of filtration products or sub-assemblies. This includes determining and/or following established methods and sequences for fiber bundling, filter potting, filter welding, fitting assembly units, and packaging. The technician works collaboratively as a team member and may be assigned to various functions as needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers on time.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and complete tasks as outlined in the daily schedule provided by the master scheduler.
  • New hires will undergo a 90-day probationary period to assess suitability for the position.
  • Perform manual assembly of complex components, including fiber, membrane, and polycarbonate materials.
  • Responsible for packaging products, assembling kits, and completing all tasks in accordance with the bill of materials and operation sequence per work Instructions.
  • Operate machinery and hand tools such as fiber slicers, spatulas, box cutters, rulers, measuring tapes, and caulking guns.
  • Identify quality issues and report them in accordance with established procedures.
  • Read and follow work instructions and specifications outlined in the Lot History Record for both sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Interpret and follow simple schematic and isometric drawings/diagrams for assembly processes based on job specifications.
  • Serve as the primary trainer for assembler I team members and ensure the effectiveness of training.
  • Work overtime as required, including occasional weekend shifts.
  • Occasionally start shifts earlier than scheduled with required overtime.
  • Perform verifications and documentation reviews of work orders to ensure compliance with good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Clean, maintain, and operate automated production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S methodology and housekeeping standards.
  • Use RTV silicone as part of regular work activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Fluency in English (reading and writing) required due to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical device assembly.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Solid understanding of basic computer applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, and communicate effectively.
  • Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or twist.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds,
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds,
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic/caustic chemicals.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an indoor cleanroom environment with a typically loud noise level.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $21.00-$25.00 per hour. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts. All compensation and benefits information will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
