Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Litigation Support Services, the LSS Specialist will work directly with Weil’s litigation support and legal teams to provide electronic discovery and technology solutions for active cases.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:

  • Analyze incoming ESI and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Convert, filter, and import ESI into case management tools for internal document reviews.
  • Setup and support internal and client document review projects. Assist LSS Project Managers and attorneys with document review procedures including complex searching and tagging of relevant documents.
  • Serve as a technical resource for document reviews, production, and trial preparations.
  • Compile documents for production in various formats (Tiff, PDF, Native file, PST, etc) for use in litigation or in response to government subpoenas, including image creation, bates stamping, load file generation, and OCR.
  • Assist with external distribution of documents per request of attorneys or LSS project managers; encrypting/decrypting documents, creating zip archives, and delivering via FTP or physical media.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex tasks relating to ESI and case management tools.
  • Collaborate with LSS and IS members on software and hardware upgrade projects.
  • Work on various projects as assigned by the LSS Manager.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Litigation Support Specialist.
  • Working knowledge of electronic discovery best practice and standard litigation technology applications is required. In-depth experience with software applications such as Relativity, Cloudnine LAW, and Opus 2 is also essential. Familiarity with webpage capturing applications, such as PageVault is preferred.
  • Proficient in creating and modifying database and image load files, as well as creating batch processing jobs using tools like Microsoft Access, TextPad and DOS commands.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex technological problems working with large amounts of electronic data is required.
  • Maintain chain of custody to ensure tracking of all ESI loaded into the firm’s case management tools or document review repositories, and QC uploads.
  • Self-motivated person with excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to adhere to project goals and deadlines.
  • Dedicated team player who is egger to to assist both management and team requests.
  • Positive attitude and have the ability to work well with vendors, and client or other counsel Litigation Support personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with those of varying technical expertise.
  • Availability to work after hours and on weekends if required. Ability to provide rotating remote weekend support.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work and educational experience required.
  • General E-Discovery, Relativity, and Concordance certifications preferred.

Estimated salary range is $100,000 - $120,000. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
