




Our client is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the implementation of Rich Communication Services (RCS) as part of its next-generation customer communications strategy. This highly visible role will own the communications product roadmap, with a strong focus on SMS and RCS channels, and will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Compliance teams. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in regulated industries, MarTech or outbound communications, and multi-channel journey orchestration.
This is a freelance to full-time role that is hybrid (2x per week) in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, New York, NY or Dallas-Forth Worth, TX.
Senior Product Manager - Digital Communications Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of RCS as a core messaging channel, in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Manage a communications product backlog, prioritizing enhancements and technical requirements across channels.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure outbound messaging aligns with business goals and regulatory standards.
- Partner with channel owners to ensure seamless RCS migration and integration into the broader communications ecosystem.
- Drive quarterly and long-term roadmap planning, aligning with strategic objectives and customer engagement goals.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories.
- Analyze and optimize the use of Adobe Campaign (and other messaging platforms to support personalized, timely communications.
- Serve as a channel expert, showcasing effective use of SMS and RCS and understanding their limitations and best-fit use cases.
- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams, acting as a self-starter who can grasp complex concepts quickly and drive execution.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive benchmarks to inform strategy and innovation.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Agile product management experience, with a strong focus on SMS/RCS in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Proven experience with SMS delivery platforms and a strong familiarity with RCS.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Campaign Manager or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Deep understanding of texting as a channel, including technical constraints, compliance considerations, and customer engagement strategies.
- Experience with multi-channel journey orchestration, including when and how to use SMS vs. RCS effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Product Marketing or adjacent roles with a focus on customer communications.
- Familiarity with 1-way and 2-way messaging, Chat (web/SMS/RCS), and Push notifications.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
